Importance:         High

All,

This serves as the second part of the reporting requirements as outlined in Transmittal No. 102.

At this time, the following ACTIONS are to be taken:

1) Please use the formatted attached file for compilation of the attendance data.

2) For each of the 24 listed events under the sub-heading "Gordon Conferences", please provide the best guess estimate of the number of attendees for FY 2004 only.  You do not have to provide any attendance information for FY2001-FY2003.

3) For each of the 8 listed events under the sub-heading "Keystone Symposia", please provide the best guess estimate of the number of attendees for FY 2004 only.  You do not have to provide any attendance information for FY2001-FY2003.

4) For each of the 6 listed events under the sub-heading "Other Events", please provide the best guess estimate of the number of attendees for FY 2004; and to the best of your ability, the number of attendees from your IC component who attended the event in Fiscal Years 2001-2003.

Again, best guess estimates for FY 2004 should entail a thorough canvassing of your respective communities.  Since this NIH estimate will be forwarded to OS/OGHA, and because that office will be monitoring and approving increases up to 30 days prior to the trip start date, it could prove somewhat embarrassing to the NIH if we were to, e.g., provide an estimate for the Research Society on Alcoholism Meeting of 35 and end up increasing the number to 80.

5) Each IC component is to complete the attached file for FY 2004 attendance.

6) If you anticipate that nobody from your IC will be attending any of the listed 38 events, return the file w/ an email message to that effect.

Please submit the completed file to Rachel Nestor by not later than NOON Monday, July 28.  Please cc me and Ken Stith.

Questions concerning these reporting requirements should be addressed to Ken Stith or Rachel Nestor on 301-402-8831.
