This is to advise you that the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management/OS has granted us a one-time exception for the authorization of a per diem allowance associated w/ travel in the local area (within a 50 mile radius), for the above subject event. Some discretion should be used if the employee lives or works just a short distance, e.g., 15 miles or closer, from the temporary duty site. All such requests should be prepared on a regular Travel Authorization and not on a Local Travel Voucher.
