​​​​​​​​​​About the Division of Program Management

The Program Management Division (PMD) is responsible for the direction, coordination and conduct of administrative management activities and services provided to OFM.  PMD accomplishes its mission by providing assistance in the areas of general administration, workforce planning and development, communications, and space management.  

Comprised of the  Administrative Branch and​ Travel Policy Branch, PMD serves as the primary contact for enhancing the practices of execution management, organizational governance, and strategic change leadership.  Staff within the PMD advise the Director, OFM, the Deputy Director, OFM, and OFM Division Directors on developments in administrative management and their implications and effects on program management.  PMD defines and maintains standards for project execution within OFM.  Working closely the other OFM Divisions, PMD facilitates delivery of strategic initiatives into daily operations. 

PMD also develops and maintains policies on administrative management, and prepares and issues procedures and guidelines for implementation of administrative policies, delegations, and requirements.  PMD is OFM's focal point for the coordination, preparation, and analysis of a wide variety of administrative management reports and other documents required by the NIH and DHHS.  Finally, PMD provides central OFM guidance, direction and oversight on a number of organizational and workforce initiatives including competitive sourcing activities and administrative consolidation.

The Administrative Branch (AB) works closely with OFM Leadership to provides general administrative support related to travel, property, acquisitions, procurement, and human resources.

Travel Policy Branch

The Travel Policy Branch (TPB) develops policy and instructions for use across NIH, administers oversight of policies and procedures, and provides travel processing advice.​
